🎨 #ArtGalleries use a specific strategy to generate sales and maximize their sales chances with #ArtCollectors. It is a 3-step process I learned myself, and I think that every #artist should use the same framework. 🧵 Let's discover it! (Thread) ⬇️ #Marketing #ArtMarketing
➡️ How do galleries are able to create a sale opportunity? Here's the specific method (in short): 1. Setting up the hook (context) 2. Connecting with emotions (story) 3. Overpassing money objection (logic) Let's see everything in detail! ⬇️
1. Setting up the hook Art galleries are places where the magic happens. The environment is not made for selling, but to HIGHLIGHT. Which makes a huge difference. Why? Because it let the opportunity for collectors to "discuss" each piece and to select the one they like.
As an artist, you should also think about this: don't try to sell, because (spoiler alert) it will NEVER work. Show your work a professional way, work your personal brand, your visual identity, and make sure your online platforms are clean and clear!
2. Connecting with emotions Now comes the most challenging part, where everything can happen. Someone is interested. Gallerist will ask: "Which one is your favorite? ... Oh, good choice. This one is very special!". And then: "Would you like to hear more about this one?"
This is what you should do too. Don't sell, but explain. Because the selling will happen (or not) during a CONVERSATION. This is also the big secret of galleries: they educate their visitors and collectors! They explain why each piece is "special". Because all are in the end.
But don't just TELL, try to make it EMOTIONAL and CONNECT with the collector. Maybe he experienced the same thing that you did create this piece? Ask him. Maybe the inspiration comes from a place you both visited? Ask him. Create the VALUE of your work.
3. Overpassing money objection Finally, the gallerist will say: "It can be yours. Pay $500 and it is yours". Collectors will think "Only $500? That's good, as I know the value of it!" And the gallerist will say: "500$ is the first deposit. We will then work on payment plans."
And this is brilliant because there is no reason why you shouldn't buy it: * You trust the environment (context) * You understand the value (story) * You can pay with a payment plan over time (logic)
You are not only selling art, you are also creating real collectors by educating them. They cannot decide by themselves because they don't understand what is the value of an artwork, an artist. And as an artist, you can give them that education.
