DeBank is a great personal portfolio-tracking tool
But it's always good to explore alternatives.
Here are my top picks for alternative Portfolio Tracking Tools
🧵
DeBank is undoubtedly the go-to favorite portfolio tracker for many reasons: multiple supported chains, a wide range of supported assets, spying on people, and more.
our test subject today is @2lambro <3
But it also lacks in areas like historical portfolio analysis.
Below are some of the portfolio tools I stumbled across on my quest to shift away from the manual Excel spreadsheet labor:
1️⃣ Loch
Loch One is a relatively new portfolio tracking tool that is quickly gaining popularity.
It connects to both DeFi and CeFi wallets to tabulate a consolidated portfolio analysis.
Features:
• Real-time price tracking
• Detailed portfolio analysis, including performance metrics, risk analysis, and tax reporting.
• Customizable alerts for your portfolio
• 20+ real-time fiat currency converters
• Net flows which can be filtered by chain/asses/timeframe
• Discover section which features top wallets, watchlist and whale watching features.
It allows you to create "Pods" or groups of multiple wallets for easy whale watching, which imo is super clean.
What I like about Loch is it shows:
• Cost basis of assets
• Filterable transaction history that is easier to read
• Asset value changes (across Years, Month & Day)
• Total gas paid
What I don't particularly like is:
• It only supports 13 chains (doesn't have the newer ones like zkSync, Polygon zkEVM or Base), ideally a portfolio tracking tool should have more supported chains.
But overall, it's a pretty good up-and-coming portfolio tracker
2️⃣ Zerion
Another go-to portfolio tracking tool, by far the more popular DeBank alternative particularly for mobile users
Features:
• Real-time price tracking
• NFT tracking
• Wallet performance timeline broken down by day
• Social features that allow you to connect with other users and share your portfolio.
What I like about Zerion is:
• Definitely its performance chart, by far one of the cleanest
• Clean, easy to understand UI
But I would probably use DeBank and Zerion together (zerion for the price chart).
Again, what I don't really like is that it doesn't the newer chains.
Also, the transaction history is not filterable by date, so you have to scroll down to access earlier transactions
It also doesn't support some newer protocols so pool positions may be hidden.
3️⃣ Nansen Portfolio
The TradFi favorite and probably one of the better-known tools, but a lot of its features are paid. Nonetheless, its free portfolio tracking features are not bad.
Features:
• On-chain analysis to track the activity of your tokens on the blockchain.
• Social insights to see how other users are trading your tokens.
• Multi-wallet support
• Niche features (e.g. for tax, accounting etc.)
• Supports 40+ chains and 400+ protocols
What I like about Nansen Portfolio:
• You can track an aggregated portfolio across multiple wallets.
• Dashboard is nice and interactive
What I don't like about Nansen Portfolio:
• Again, it doesn't support the newer chains like Polygon zkEVM
• Doesn't show detailed pool positions or cost-basis of assets, purely liquid asset holdings
Metamask Portfolio
The common DeFi-folk, new entrant go-to tracker because the only wallet you know is Metamask.
Nothing wrong.
But it isn't the greatest portfolio tracker.
What I like about MM portfolio:
• Reputable brand
• Interactive learning page - perfect for new entrants
• Supports a lot of chains, even the newer ones.
What I don't like about MM portfolio:
• You have to manually import newer chains by adding the RPCs
• Pool holdings non-existent
• Transaction history is very hard to read
And of course, the most handy, timeless tool out there if none of these are for you...
Microsoft Excel
What I like about it:
• You can track every possible thing u want
• Manual hard labour
• Digital slavery
• Brain workout
• Rabies-inducing
It appears no portfolio tracker is able to analyze LP positions in-depth yet - things like IL or even showing CL position ranges would be useful too.
But for now, using Excel for that suffices. 🫡
