As we possibly enter a new wave in our market cycles I'd encourage everyone to now look at learning/refreshing a skill.
📈 Technical Analysis
🖥️ Coding - (Solidity/Java)
🏄 Personal Hobby
🔍 Etherscan
💵 Cryptoeconomics
🧵 Keep your mind fresh and challenge yourself -
The above listed are what we classify as "hard skills".
I would like to preface that understanding these things wont guarantee success.
Your willingness, resilience and growth mindset is going to be crucial - these are what we call "soft skills".
Additionally, I'm by no means an expert at any of the above.
I see a lot of people going through hard times and I feel like I need to provide some encouragement and direction to resources that are available so you can grow and become stronger in preparation for future cycles.
📈 Technical Analysis
If you're serious about making it in crypto, being able to understand charts is essential.
Technical analysis is a trading discipline employed to evaluate investments and identify trading opportunities in price trends and patterns seen on charts.
🖥️ Coding - (Solidity/Java)
Now, I know what you're thinking, learning an entirely new language is scary (trust me I know, I started learning Swedish!)
You don't need to know everything, start with the basics of Smart Contracts and work from there.
So why should you learn to read code?
- Being able to quickly open Etherscan.com and read through some of the lines of code may able to assist you in making better decisions. Yes I'm aware there are websites that make ease of this nowadays, however its good to know.
- Maybe you've got aspirations to become a developer? Or already have a coding background and want to work in Solidity.

🏄 Personal Hobby
Research shows that people with hobbies are less likely to suffer from stress, low mood, and depression. Activities that get you out and about can make you feel happier and more relaxed.
Having a separate hobby outside of crypto can help you make better decisions.
Hobbies help you think creatively.
Don't confuse this with artistic creativity, though hobbies can definitely help build that kind of creativity, too. By pursuing a hobby that's outside your normal comfort zone, you develop problem-solving skills and practice new ways of thinking.
Examples of some hobbies that make you more productive;
• Cooking
• Hiking
• Painting
• Writing
• Running
• Dancing
• Yoga
• Meditating
• Reading
• Video Games
• Gardening
• Knitting
• Woodwork
• Poker
• Acting
• Bodybuilding
• Swimming
As we a nearing a period in crypto where there will be excessive downtime, it's extremely beneficial to pick up a hobby outside to further stimulate yourself, as staring at a screen all day watching charts is not going to give you a fulfilled life.
Ask yourself - Whats my hobby?
🔍 Etherscan
Etherscan is at the core of all our day to day activities in crypto. A lot of many other chains use the exact explorer format so it will be beneficial cross chain.
Etherscan is one of THE must have skills in crypto.
Why should you learn?
• To check the balance of an Ethereum address.
• To view the transaction history of an Ethereum address.
• To see the smart contract code of an Ethereum address.
• To verify that a transaction has been successfully mined and included in a block on the Ethereum blockchain.
• To look up the price of Ether (ETH) in real-time.
• To track the latest news and developments related to Ethereum.
• To find out which exchanges list Ether (ETH) for trading.
• To learn more about how Ethereum works and explore all of its features and potential uses.
• To find out about upcoming events and conferences related to Ethereum.
💵 Cryptoeconomics
Cryptoeconomics is the study of economic interaction in adversarial environments. In decentralized P2P systems that do not give control to any third party, one must assume that there will be bad actors looking to disrupt the system.
Cryptoeconomic approaches combine cryptography and economics to create robust decentralized P2P networks that thrive over time despite adversaries attempting to disrupt the network.
💭 I hope I've achieved my goal in giving you some direction into learning opportunities within Web3 and Crypto to keep your mind fresh with any potential downside in our market cycles.
You are in a very unique opportunity being so new into Crypto prior to any mass adoption.
You have the time and ability to further refine skills for success.
If there is anything I've missed, I welcome any contributors to this post as that's what so wonderful about CT.
✅ Additional Resources;
I haven't listed this above as a skill, however knowing where and whom to get information off is critical in this space.
If you haven't already I highly suggest following some of the below individuals, some of their content may be hard to digest at first however if you take the time to unpack it you'll be putting yourself in a favourable position understanding how this industry operates.
