Good news: Aquí te dejo 5 estrategias para mejorarlo y preservar tu agilidad mental.
Si estás en línea, vives bombardeando constantemente con videos, datos, imágenes, y sonidos.
Este acceso ilimitado al conocimiento puede parecer un superpoder moderno.
Pero viene con su propio conjunto de desafíos para nuestro cerebro.
Aunque nuestra capacidad para almacenar información no se disminuye, es nuestro sistema de atención el que sufre bajo la presión del multitaking.
Esto se debe a que nuestro cerebro no está diseñado para procesar diferentes fuentes de información de forma simultánea.
El multitasking, lejos de ser una habilidad para presumir, dispersa nuestro enfoque.
Reduciendo nuestra eficiencia y capacidad para retener información a largo plazo.
Esto ocurre porque sobrecargamos nuestro sistema de atención, que es limitado. 🔑
Llevando a un rendimiento subóptimo y, con el tiempo, a un agotamiento mental.
Pero no todo son malas noticias.
La neurociencia también nos ofrece soluciones. Estrategias derivadas de un conocimiento profundo del cerebro para mejorar y preservar nuestras capacidades cognitivas en el mundo digital.
Veamos:
1. La Magia del Monotasking.
Primero y principal: El multitasking es un mito.
Nuestros cerebros no están hechos para manejar multiple tareas simultáneamente.
Enfocarse en una sola tarea a la vez no sólo mejora la calidad de nuestro trabajo, sino que también preserva nuestra reserva limitada de atención.
Así que, cuando estés en línea, concéntrate en una actividad a la vez.
Verás cómo aumenta tu productividad y disminuye tu estrés.
2. Desacelera para Recordar.
Cuando busques algo en internet, no te apresures.
Acceder a la información puede ser rapidísimo, pero nuestro cerebro necesita más tiempo para entenderla y guardarla bien.
Haz pausas regulares para darle a tu sistema de atención el respiro necesario para transferir esa información a la memoria a largo plazo.
3. Pausas Estratégicas.
Piénsalo así: no todas las pausas en tu día a día tienen el mismo efecto.
Cuando te tomes un respiro, busca hacer algo que de verdad te ayude a relajarte y a llenarte de energía.
En vez de quedarte pegado mirando curiosidades en internet durante tu pausa del almuerzo, ¿qué tal si sales a caminar un poco?
Respirar aire fresco y moverte puede ser justo lo que necesitas para volver al trabajo con la mente clara y renovada.
4. Domina tu Consumo de Redes Sociales.
Las redes sociales son como un laberinto de distracciones que nunca termina.
Una buena táctica es usar apps que te corten el acceso después de que hayas pasado cierto tiempo en ellas cada día.
Así no sólo proteges tu capacidad de concentrarte, sino que también ganas tiempo para hacer cosas que te aporten más.
5. Audio > Videos
Vivimos rodeados de pantallas. Darle un respiro a tus ojos y a tu cerebro te ayudará a concentrate mejor.
Escuchar podcasts, en lugar de verlos, demanda menos de tu sistema de atención, permitiéndote absorber información de manera más relajada y eficiente.
