⚖️ As of Sunday, the Commission can start enforcing the EU's AI Act.

The AI Office can now investigate compliance, mandate technological changes, issue fines, and even block non-compliant AI systems from the EU market.

This shift arrives at a critical moment, following recent high-profile safety incidents involving major AI frontier labs. To help with enforcement, the EU's AI Office is expanding its current 145-person workforce by hiring 40 additional contract agents through 2027, specifically bolstering its regulation, compliance, and AI safety units.

As AI capabilities rapidly evolve, the EU is actively building regulatory infrastructure to ensure technological safety and accountability. 🌍
