Il y a quelques temps, @Twitter a annoncé la soft release de Notes, destiné à ceux qui veulent s’exprimer en plus de 280 signes.
Même si c’est une évolution naturelle, je ne crois pas que ce soit une feature majeure pour le futur de Twitter.
Voici pourquoi :
Notes s’adresse à des utilisateurs qui écrivent en longueur.
La majorité de ceux qui le font ont déjà une plateforme pour ça, de WordPress à Substack en passant par Medium, LinkedIn ou leur Email List.
Les convaincre de venir sur Notes sera difficile.
Et la conquête de nouveaux utilisateurs sera difficile aussi car elle demande d’amener à l’écriture des gens qui n’y sont pas aujourd’hui malgré la multitude d’outils déjà à leur disposition depuis deux décennies.
Évidemment, profiter de la puissance de diffusion de Twitter n’est pas sans intérêt, surtout quand on a déjà pas mal de followers.
Mais beaucoup de questions reste sans réponse à ce stade.
Comment les Notes seront-elles indexées par Google ?
Partager un lien de Notes sur Twitter sera-t-il pénalisé sur le plan du reach comme les liens normaux le sont ou y aura-t-il une préférence (le mot que je cherche est sans doute “passe-droit”) ?
Je comprends que Notes est une version initiale, qui va évoluer dans le temps, mais une interface et des options aussi basiques peuvent-elles séduire de nouveaux créateurs ?
Notes va-t-il remplacer les threads ?
Spoiler Alert : Non.
Les threads apportent la possibilité de réagir à une partie du texte, de la liker, la partager ou la commenter.
Notes n'offre pas ça, et on sait tous à quel point laisser les gens s'exprimer est important.
Bref, j'ai quelques doutes sur le devenir de Notes.
A regarder tous les efforts faits par Twitter pour innover, en introduisant de nouveaux services, et leur taux de mortalité presque immédiat, il semble vraiment très compliqué de faire évoluer la plateforme.
