Always lean towards simplicity whenever possible.

I had a complex, 3-hour morning routine. I've spent the last week practicing the simplest version of my routine.

Needless to say... I've been wasting my morning for the last 2 years 🧵

1/ I Cut Everything

Literally, I cut everything from my morning routine instead of trying to pick and choose what I wanted to cut. Started with a blank slate

Seems like an unnecessary, small step... but you'd be mistaken.

2/ Added in the 20% that produced the 80%

The 80/20 of my morning routine was:

→ 30min of Bible reading, Prayer, and journal
→ 20min of mobility or yoga
→ 30min of Breakfast + Watching a course w/ my youngest son

That's it. Game-changing.

3/ 16oz of water w/ electrolytes + brew coffee

Right before I open my bible, I chug 16oz of electrolyte water and brew a pot of coffee.

I don't drink the coffee until breakfast, but something about reading the Word and doing mobility while smelling coffee make it a vibe.

Moral of the story:

You don't need complexity. You need SIMPLICITY.

Since implementing this, I have been able to:
→ Complete 2x the amount of work in the morning
→ Decrease my anxiety and stress about the day ahead

These are the 8 rules of success I live by—to run a successful agency

1. Under-promise, Over-deliver.

Too many rookie agency owners go out there promising the world.

Find out what the industry average is… and just promise 5-10% more.

Ex. Realtors average 5 listing appointments per month. You should promise only 2-3 more.

You’ll be thankful

2. Separate your agency from yourself.

Once you decide to go down this path… go all the way.

Get a separate biz account, get agency insurance, get a company email, etc.

Not only does this help you legally… but you look more professional.

3. Systems are King.

Show me an agency that is struggling… and nine times out of ten it is because of their systems.

What makes great companies great… they’re predictable results they generate from systems they have in place.

This is you number 1 goal!

4. Generalists win.

Great, you’re the world’s greatest email marketer… but you don’t know sales or...

• Basic accounting
• Basic legal info
• Productivity
• Operations

You’re a business owner first. You have to learn all of these things… at least on a basic level to grow

5. Do the boring shit.

9 times out of 10… the boring shit is the stuff that will actually move the needle for you.

Create systems and SOPs vs. Make an IG Reel

One is powerful and will help you scale and automate.

The other will be irrelevant in 60 minutes…

6. Always charge based on value.

The gurus say charge performance pricing...

The gurus want you to fail so you keep coming back to them...

ALWAYS… either work for free for a limited time, then charge... or charge straight-out based on the value that YOU create for THEM.

7. Practice what you preach.

I see many agencies that preach "We will generate you X leads through powerful Facebook Ads"...

Yet, they are not using ads to generate their own leads.

My agency offered sales funnel dev... so I sales funnels as my primary acquisition method.

8. Hire VAs from the Philippines.

I have never worked with a VA from the Philippines that did not deliver!

Not only that, they have friendly labor laws close the United States… which is a big deal… that the gurus say not to worry about.

However, do your own research.

I’ve been apart of a dozen communities and not even ONE talks about these things.

1. Legal 💩

I had a friend that was apart of an online marketing community.

He asked about having a solid agreement in place. They said don’t worry about it.

3 months later, a client sued him for a marketing error. He lost and had to pay over $10k to the client.

Don’t be him.

2. Money 💩

As a business you'll have to pay some taxes.

I see too many agency owners balling out and not even considering their taxes.

Once that time of the year rolls around… they’re looking stupid when the IRS is asking for its portion...

Don’t be them.

3. Labor 💩

They say to go and hire foreign contractors or other workers.

They forget to mention that you are subject to abide by their labor laws for that worker.

If you fail to understand this… you can find yourself in hot water.
