My back story...

November 2021 is when I actively started using Twitter.

Every day I did these 3 things:

1. Show up
2. Provide quality
3. Try to add value, wherever I could

While many people run behind the number of followers, it is almost a vanity metric when you're starting out.

Pro Tip: The number of your followers does not matter.

It's not about the number of relationships/followers you have but about the quality of relationships you have.

The quality of your relationship with your audience is what will help you get more clients, not the number of people following you.

One person I met on here got me projects and clients from which I made over $100.

And this is just one, there others too.

Work on the quality of your network.

How?

Use DMs. These are seriously underrated.

You're better off DMing people you want to work with consistently rather than following and engaging with a huge number of people.

Other ways of engaging could be on Spaces or comments, where people are generally active.

Fact:
Acquiring new customers is at least 5-10x harder than retaining old customers.

Work on your existing relationships rather than going out to build new ones.
