/9 The newly released documents by @SenRandPaul show exactly how Fauci was given every chance to shape the Biden intelligence report on COVID origins. He didn't just dodge scrutiny. He wrote the playbook.
/9 They start with what we already knew: Fauci, Collins and especially Farrar actively shaped Proximal Origin, while making sure their fingerprints stayed off it. Farrar thinking Health Diplomacy. Fauci protecting his NIH biodefense empire and his own backside.
/9 Biden ordered a 90-day intel review on May 26, 2021. A highly classified multi-agency meeting is scheduled for June 11. HHS proposes Fauci attend.
/9 The briefing was 'challenging'. Nice euphemism. I suspect Fauci pushed hard against any non-natural origin, especially anything involving a modified virus. Then they give him access to review the draft Biden intel report. And offer him a briefing with senior ODNI staff.
/9 Fauci does that meeting on July 7 with the ODNI/NSC team. Effusive thank you notes follow. He may have signed autographs and done selfies with the team. Would not surprise me.
/9 What did he discuss with them? You guessed it: the Proximal Origin paper from 'a group of highly qualified virologists'. Yes, that paper. The one Fauci, Collins and Farrar shaped while making sure they were 'appropriately not mentioned in it'.
/9 The whole thing was a complete farce. That's exactly what the Biden IC report was meant to be. Whitewashing, ordered by the Biden admin on May 26, 2021. Report released Aug 27. Avril Haines did exactly what the White House asked.
/9 BTW: she has just moved to a typical end-of-the-line position where she will hopefully be able to keep working on wooly grand ideals, but without doing that kind of damage she did with the Biden report. x.com/CarnegieEndow/status/2065151241710116942?s=20
