One of the best ways to ensure the longevity of an ecosystem is to increase the utility of its core token(s).
$ATOM 2.0 is a much-needed upgrade to both technical utility (with interchain security, allocator, etc) and to ecosystem development (via treasury-funded projects).
The proposal gets push-back over initial mint speeds, but we believe it's actually much healthier over time.

On top of that, the funds minted will be used to upgrade the hub, onboard new talent, and find new avenues for providing value.
It's a boost to the ecosystem coming at a time when web3 needs progress we can believe in.
At the end of the day, Prop 82 is a signaling prop.
That means that if passed, it wouldn't finalize the ATOM 2.0 whitepaper. It just grants clearance to start building.
And web3 needs more people building.
