Canada was instrumental in establishing the International Criminal Court (ICC). As a founding nation, Canada contributed to drafting the initial treaty in Rome in 1988, which laid the groundwork for the Court's authority and was one of the first countries to ratify the treaty. The statute came into effect on July 1, 2002, granting the ICC sole jurisdiction over four major international crimes: genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and crimes of aggression.
Canada also played a crucial role in securing broad international consensus for the Court's authority and jurisdiction. π¨π¦βοΈ
In November 2024, the Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli and Hamas leaders on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

South Africa brought a case against Israel to the International Court of Justice in December 2023, alleging violations of the 1948 Genocide Convention. While a final ruling on whether genocide has occurred will take years, the ICJ has seen enough evidence to warrant issuing three binding provisional measures (interim orders) to protect Palestinians in Gaza while the case is pending. πβπ΅πΈ
These include:
- January 26, 2024 : The Court ordered Israel to prevent acts prohibited by the Genocide Convention, prevent and punish incitement to genocide, and enable humanitarian relief.
- March 28, 2024 : The Court ordered Israel to ensure the unimpeded provision of basic food supplies.
- May 24, 2024 : The Court ordered Israel to immediately halt its military offensive, and any other action in the Rafah governate which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that could bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.

Humanitarian organizations and other experts have long accused Israel of using water as a weapon of war in Gaza. This is achieved by the systematic destruction of civilian water infrastructure, deliberately restricting the water supply going in to Gaza and obstructing aid workers from making repairs. These actions against a starving population have lead to a severe humanitarian and health catastrophe.
In December 2024, Human Rights Watch issued a report: "Extermination and Acts of Genocide - Israel Deliberately Depriving Palestinians in Gaza of Water". This damning report discusses in depth how Israel has weaponized water. It also describes how Israel blocked fuel, food and other humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip. It shows how Israel deliberately destroyed water and sanitation infrastructure and industrial plumbing materials necessary for making repairs.

Although not binding, as a founding party to the Rome Statute that established the ICC, Canada is morally obligated to cooperate with the court's requests, including enforcing any arrest warrants. Canada has always responded to any any request from the court and contributed to the legal teams prosecuting war crimes across the globe. The Prime Minister has indicated that Canada will continue to follow its policy of abiding by any requests made from the Court.
Getting back to the three cheerleaders for team Zion I mentioned at the beginning of this thread, namely @Roman_Baber @MelissaLantsman @SenatorHousakos. I think there is ample evidence suggesting that war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes of genocide against the Palestinian population in Gaza, have been and continue to be committed by the Israeli leadership and Israeli Defense Forces. It is well past the stage of plausible deniability.
I've shown how Canada has always acted with moral clarity and in accordance with the Court's wishes, the very Court it was instrumental in establishing. The Prime Minister has said that Canada has not strayed from the path and will continue to follow the rule of law.
You three are a disgrace. One a sitting senator, another a deputy party leader the other a conspiracist and anti-vaxxer. Pointing out crimes committed by some of the most depraved people on the planet is not anti-Semitism, it's the moral thing to do and the Canadian way. Sit down and STFU!
