Shout out to the @notionhq creators who have hundreds of customers but less than $1000 in sales. Making a sale of any type is a huge accomplishment but with the average template price around $25 it doesn’t add up fast. However - as a Notion Consultant one sale could mean $10,000+
This week I want to talk about some of the issues in the creator community and also why I chose to focus on Consulting rather than templates when it comes to monetizing @notionhq.
In doing so - I’ll also give a sneak peek into each lesson of my @notionhq Consultants Course and help you decide if it’s time to pivot from a low-income side hustle to a profitable career with Notion Consulting.
The price of the highest-selling templates rarely reaches $100. And even then - getting someone to purchase such an expensive template from someone with little to no ‘real world’ @notionhq Consulting experience can be difficult.
Regardless of becoming a creator or a consultant you still need to market and find customers/clients. The question is: would you like a guaranteed and stable payout or take the risk of hopefully being chosen in an absolute sea of THOUSANDS of templates?
@notionhq Consulting can be incredibly profitable and with many Certified Notion Consultants charging $150 USD per hour, the ability to start making REAL money with just one client can be much more enticing.
Of course, finding clients can be one of the major pain points for those starting off but Lesson 7 in the @notionhq Consultants Course provides a plethora of options that are similar (if not easier) to those tactics you use as a creator.
Our Discord community also has an #Opportunities channel to share jobs and all students can join the exclusive Consultant Directory which is the first point of reference for all clients we are unable to take on @ notionology.com
Listen, I’m not naïve - the appeal of passive income through templates is real and for many, it can be attainable. But if you aren’t in a place to give away your time for free just yet - it could be worth starting as a @notionhq Consultant to gain experience getting $ to create.

Don’t take my word for it, check out what @notionhq Certified Consultant Taina Pereenniemi (@notion_taina) has to say:
“Before joining Molly’s course I was already working as Notion Consultant but I was still lacking consistency in my lead generation efforts and was also looking for ways to improve my process and the way I serve my clients.
When this course came out and I knew Molly was a very experienced Notion Consultant and I thought this is definitely something I want to take and learn more about how to run my Notion Consulting business.
What I especially liked about this course it really helped lay the foundation for efficiently running a Notion Consulting business, prepping for the certified consultants exam, setting up your base templates, and also lots of great tips about how to run the whole process…
...from sales to delivering a project for a client as well as some tips for how to find clients and how to find great leads to work with. Since taking this course I have become a Notion Certified Consultant, the first one in the Nordics and have also had several $13,000 months...
This is now really supporting me fulltime and allowing me to work on the things I love everyday. I can wholeheartedly recommend this course for anyone who seriously wants to become a Notion Certified Consultant and wants to turn it into a source of living for themselves.”
