A quick 🧵on SudoSwap & why this is a big deal:

SudoSwap is a NFT trading platform that uses bonding curves and liquidity pools to provide liquid NFT trading.

Users can add NFTs that they own to liquidity pools and earn trading fees on transactions in their pool.

In order to list a NFT on SudoSwap users can create a new pool, or transfer their NFT to an existing one.

SudoSwap is attempting to solve some of the liquidity issues associated with trading NFTs.

But what if I wanted to mint an NFT collection directly through a SudoSwap pool and then use a portion of the proceeds to fund a liquidity pool for the new collection?

Currently, this is not possible and existing work arounds require collection owners to “pre-mint” their collection, transfer all of the NFTs to a new pool, and then let uses purchase the NFT from the pool.

There are a couple problems with this: it uses a lot of gas and is expensive, it is not a true “mint” (but a purchase on the open market), and users can pick and choose their NFTs prior to purchase.

We set out to fix this...

We've created a method for minting a collection of any size for the low gas price of deploying two smart contracts.

Here is how it works: we created two smart contracts: SudoSwapMintWrapper and SudoSwapMintableNFT. When a pool is created, the wrapper NFT is transferred (in bulk) to the pool.

Then, when a user purchases a SSMW NFT from the pool, it gets burned, triggering the actual NFT to be minted on behalf of the user.

With no impact on SudoSwaps underlying infrastructure & user experience, we were able to build a mechanism in which NFTs could natively be minted through their platform!

We believe this could open the door for many other creators who would like to mint collections directly on sudo swap but are prevented by the high gas costs of transferring NFTs into a pool. Our code is available to the public and can be used by anyone.
