Not too shabby.<br><br>But as you may already know, the value of an ecommerce business today is 100% in the ‘exit’...<br><br>Where the business is sold to investors for a...<br><br>Huge lump sum of money, and the founders can ride off into the sunset, wealthy beyond their wildest dreams.<br><br>And if your goal is a seven, eight or even 9-Figure exit (USD)...<br><br>Your business needs to be scalable, profitable and have potential for more growth. Otherwise...<br><br>It won’t be as attractive to investors, and won’t sell for as much as it could.<br><br>Therein lies the problem.<br><br>With this particular client, even though they’d already hit multiple 6 figures, their conversions were nowhere near where they could be.<br><br>Try as they might, they couldn’t scale any further with the kind of CPAs, conversions, and AOVs they had.<br><br>They’d be bleeding money if they did.<br><br>What’s more…<br><br>They discovered that prospects would click away from their ads, and landing pages only to head over to...<br><br><a href="https://Amazon.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Amazon.com</a> in search of the same product for cheaper.<br><br>In fact, my client's brand actually made Jeff Bezos a lot richer, because their ads single handedly generated lots of “free sales”...<br><br>For the lucky Amazon sellers who offered similar but cheaper alternatives...<br><br>To what my client was selling.<br><br>So, I’m sure you’re wondering…<br><br>Why were people clicking away to shop on Amazon, when they could have just bought from my client’s store?<br><br>Well, after hopping on a call with this client…<br><br>And garnering some information.<br><br>I figured out they had a POSITIONING problem. Not a demand problem.<br><br>There was plenty of demand. And the uptick in sales on Amazon proved that.<br><br>But their POSITIONING problem meant that potential customers couldn’t see the value in buying from my client instead of amazon.<br><br>One of the reasons for this, was because my client was selling their product at more than double the price that some other competitors were charging.<br><br>Did my client have a better product? Yes they did.<br><br>But it wasn’t immediately obvious.<br><br>In fact, as far as potential customers were concerned, they would only be paying a lot more for something they could get for much cheaper…<br><br>And that didn’t seem like a good deal.<br><br>So you see, the challenge wasn’t convincing prospects that a product like that could help them.<br><br>The challenge was convincing these prospects to HAPPILY pay more for a different product, that they could potentially get cheaper elsewhere.<br><br>And the only way to do that, was to position this unique product as the SUPERIOR OPTION.<br><br>Now, it would have been easy to just make bigger and bolder claims, like lots of lazy marketers do.<br><br>Claims like:<br><br>“Hey, buy our product. You’ll get Better, Faster and Easier Results. Why? Because we said so. There’s no proof whatsoever to support these claims of superiority.”<br><br>There were a couple of things wrong with this approach:<br><br>For one...<br><br>We’d likely get in trouble with the FTC for misleading advertising.<br><br>And two...<br><br>There was nothing stopping a competing brand from copying our ads, selling the same product, and then making even bigger and bolder claims.<br><br>Putting us back at square one.<br><br>Heck no!<br><br>We needed something MEANINGFUL to differentiate our product, give people a reason to choose us at a higher price point, and backup our claims of superiorty.<br><br>So here’s what I did to solve this:<br><br>Now, over the past year or so...<br><br>I spent a few months studying a bunch of 9-Figure copywriters and the secrets behind their grand-slam winning campaigns…<br><br>I learned — the hard way — that the most powerful and reliable way to position a product as superior and different is...<br><br>With a little something called the Unique Mechanism i.e.<br><br>How and why this superior product will work for your prospect in a different and better way.<br><br>Since it was a health and wellness product, we needed the science behind it.<br><br>And after a few days reading through some scientific studies about the technology in the product…<br><br>I discovered a brand new way to position it.<br><br>A way that competing amazon sellers COULDN’T do.<br><br>And with a little bit of direct-response copywriting...<br><br>And some branding we were able to reposition the product…<br><br>Successfully price it at DOUBLE what the competition was selling for, and finally start making all those sales we were losing to amazon.<br><br>We tested out some advertorials and VSL ads on Facebook…<br><br>And one of them won big time..<br><br>Producing a 4X ROAS without any major upsells or subscription offers on the backend.<br><br>Needless to say, my client was pleased and we’re planning on scaling aggressively with more winning VSL ads and maybe a few upgrades to the landing page.<br><br>Now besides the Unique Mechanism, there were 5 other tweaks my client implemented in their VSL ads.<br><br>These tweaks combined together made their business MORE scalable, and moved the ROAS needle higher and even faster.<br><br>With a unique mechanism alone they'd have been scaling at a 1.5x or 1.7x ROAS... which is still scalable btw.<br><br>But, implementing the other 5 tweaks pushed ROAS up to 2.5x, 3x and eventually 4x.<br><br>The best part is each one of these tweaks is simple.<br><br>And anyone can apply them to any ecommerce business to increase conversions, sales and profits…<br><br>As soon as today even... if you’re an action taker.<br><br>If you don’t have an ecommerce business that’s already doing above $35,000 (USD) a month…<br><br>These tweaks probably won’t do you any good. Both of them stunningly beautiful.<br><br>Both equally endowed with all the physical attributes any man could ever want in a woman… <br><br>As well all the personality traits they’d want their dream spouse to have.<br><br>The women are both genuinely good and moral people. They both cook & clean, and are loyal to a fault.<br><br>Yes, they’re both exactly like this, but there’s a small catch.<br><br>Both of them want to marry the SAME man, and he can only pick one of them.<br><br>Now this man, although blessed with a good heart and truly does want a spouse with great character and a pleasing personality…<br><br>Is unfortunately, wired to respond to signs of physical beauty above all else.<br><br>In other words he is 1000X more likely to be INSTANTLY attracted to a woman with a big ass, and some questionable character flaws…<br><br>Than he is to be attracted to a not-so-desirable lady who prays, cooks and is loyal.<br><br>But like I said earlier, both women are equally beautiful, so it’s not really a problem here.<br><br>And in a perfect world the man would simply be allowed to marry both, because both of them are equally suitable for him.<br><br>Unfortunately, he has to pick one. And he is going to pick the one who stands out to him in some way.<br><br>Woman #1, even though she knows just how responsive the man in question is to seeing a woman with a big behind, decides NOT to focus on that.<br><br>“After all,” she says, “A man should be less superficial and focus on the beauty within.”<br><br>So she decides to be stubborn. <br><br>She gets close to the man and tries to woo him with her character, spirituality, cooking skills and loyalty.<br><br>Everything but the physical attributes she already knows this man wants.<br><br>Woman #2 knowing the truth about this kind of man, and how he is more responsive to “womanly” physical features than character and morals…<br><br>Decides to dress slightly provocative — just enough to show off all her best assets and attract her dream man’s attention.<br><br>After all they both have the exact same character. The man is going to be happy regardless.<br><br>So she might as well go the extra mile to secure her dream man for herself, by appealing to the things he already wants.<br><br>And it works!<br><br>Woman #2 — the sexy woman — gets the man. <br><br>While woman #1 who was truly just as beautiful and just as wonderful to be around, is left scratching her head wondering what happened.<br><br>Woman #1 is the Marketer/copywriter who sells with logic, features and benefits. <br><br>And he’s right in a way, alone he is more than enough to win over his customers.<br><br>But… as soon as someone with similar products, similar features and similar benefits enters the market…<br><br>It becomes a competition, and during a competition between 2 similar products, the one portrayed as “Sexy” is the one that gets chosen.<br><br>Emotional Copywriting is how you make a product “sexy”.<br><br>And it’s the sexy products that get bought over and over again.<br><br>In competitive industries with high stakes and competition, which kind of copywriters do you think will shine?<br><br>The ones who sell with logic, or the ones who acknowledge the game and play it well and sell with EMOTIONS?]]></content:encoded>

Have you ever seen a sales page for a $3,000+ service?<br><br>Where you just click the “add to cart button” without ever speaking to another human.<br><br>Naah very rarely.<br><br>There’s a reason why even established brands and agencies...<br><br>Still have real humans behind their sales process.<br><br>This goes double for a copywriter.<br><br>Because if you’re going to sell their stuff, you’d better be able to sell yourself to them.<br><br>If you’re finding it difficult to get paid high retainers...<br><br>...Even when your client has money.<br><br>It’s because you don’t know sales.<br><br>But it’s not your fault - a lot of copywriters don’t.<br><br>Most of them are introvert types like me,<br>who started out as writers before deciding to turn to the copy side.<br><br>While this is a good way to go about it, it’s not ideal.<br><br>In a perfect world, you would be a seasoned salesman first.<br><br>Before putting your persuasive words into print.<br><br>Nevertheless, you can go from writer to<br>badass Sales Consultant if you’re willing to learn.<br><br>I started out as a nerdy introvert copywriter too and my income showed it.<br><br>Until I learned sales and became more confident negotiating with clients I couldn’t close high-paying gigs.<br><br>So I learned, practiced, and got better.<br><br>And once I got decent at it.<br><br>It was truly a game-changing skill -- A super-power really.<br><br>One that’s transferrable to all areas of your life, and will keep your pocket from running dry...<br><br>As long as you can find something to sell.<br><br>And people with money to sell it too.<br><br>I hope I have your attention now.<br><br>If so, I will proceed to show you<br><br>The Mike Tyson approach to sales.<br><br>One thing you should know about sales<br><br>Is that it is a “2-Way Dance”.<br><br>Between Prospect & Service Provider<br><br>With both sides wanting conflicting outcomes.<br><br>The prospect would love to get as much info and service as they can…<br><br>while giving as little payment as possible in return.<br><br>On the other hand you the service provider<br><br>Would like to charge as much as you can<br><br>while doing as little work as possible.<br><br>So we have 2 conflicting desires.<br><br>2 FRAMES.<br><br>And when 2 frames meet, one wins and one loses.<br><br>That’s how the game goes.<br><br>Now I know traditional sales generally has a very sleazy feel to it.<br><br>I want to make it known that.<br><br>You don’t have to be sleazy.<br><br>But you MUST have a strong frame and be confident.<br><br>If not your prospects will push you around,<br><br>haggle you to death, and keep ghosting you.<br><br>If you want to win and stay sleaze-free.<br><br>You’ll want to use the<br><br>Iron Mike Tyson Sale’s Approach<br><br>Which I’ll explain shortly.<br><br>Now here’s the thing about Mike Tyson.<br><br>Before his first loss in February 18th, 1990<br><br>He had this invincible aura surrounding him.<br><br>His opps would accept defeat BEFORE they ever stepped in the ring with him.<br><br>He didn’t really have to do anything once the match started...<br><br>Except throw his jabs, tire out his opponents and eventually knock them out.<br><br>He came in with a winners frame right from the get-go.<br><br>He dominated the match -- Never lost control.<br><br>And there was usually nothing his opponents could do to take control from him and turn things around.<br><br>He had every angle covered.<br><br>That’s how sales work for the Badass Marketer.<br><br>You don't wanna simp for your clients.<br><br>You want to go in with the idea that you’re going to win.<br><br>So that before you even start throwing your jabs<br><br>i.e. making your sales presentation…<br><br>you know the deal is going to close.<br><br>It is essentially selling with a Strong Frame.<br><br>And this how you close high-level business owners, and executives with more experience and wealth than you…<br><br>Without feeling inferior or unconfident.<br><br>How do you do this?<br><br>By properly qualifying all your clients with strategic questions, and by disarming all<br><br>Possible objections before making your sales presentation.<br><br>Qualifying does 2 things for you.<br><br>It helps you weed out tire kickers who CAN’T close.<br><br>And it makes you seem SUPER PROFESSIONAL.<br><br>Even if you’ve never closed a successful call before.<br><br>What do I mean by qualifying? <br><br>Okay, for a prospect to have a good chance of closing they need to meet 5 criteria.<br><br>◾ They need to have PAIN.<br><br>◾ They need to have the money to afford you.<br><br>◾ They need to have a motive for taking action now.<br><br>◾ They need to be a decision-maker.<br><br>◾ They need to be shown that your product/service can solve their pain.<br><br>The good news is that if a client meets all<br><br>Your criteria and you have a viable service that can help them, and you run your sales call smoothly.<br><br>You WILL close clients. It’s inevitable.<br><br>The bad news is that even if a client is qualified, they are still business people <br><br>And 9 times out of 10 they will try to get a bargain if you don’t stand your ground.<br><br>Even if your client could pay you $20,000,<br><br>they will still try to ask for a discount<br><br>or test you to see if you buckle under pressure.<br><br>You don’t want that.<br><br>This is why you need to DISARM all the possible objections your clients could give you, in order to keep your frame <br><br>And close the sale without stress. <br><br>Now let's dive into the details of doing that.<br><br>Phase 1 - Finding out if there’s Pain.<br><br>Without pain, there’s no sale. <br><br>Even if everything else is there.<br><br>Because for your prospect to be sufficiently motivated to spend money on your solution, there must be pain somewhere.<br><br>It’s your duty as a sales detective to find it.<br><br>Next comes Phase 2<br><br>Budget and Money Issues.<br><br>Believe me, you don’t want to deliver a presentation about how your product solves the pain...<br><br>Only for your prospect to tell you, they can’t afford your premium prices or that it’s not in the budget.<br><br>You should address the budget at the beginning.<br><br>Many people have a hard time doing this... <br><br>Because they’ve been conditioned by upbringing to shy away from money issues.<br><br>You must overcome this, and be confident talking about money if you want to grow a business.<br><br>Timid salespeople have skinny children and empty wallets.<br><br>If they don’t have a budget. You disqualify them and end the call.<br><br>No exceptions. Unless you're cool with earning the low prices you're probably used to.<br><br>Next comes Phase 3<br><br>The decision-making process.<br><br>a.k.a When your prospect drops the objection of…<br><br>I need to talk to my boss.<br><br>Or My accountant…<br><br>Or my Wife/Husband…<br><br>Or their Priest<br><br>Or whoever.<br><br>It’s a way for them to avoid buying.<br><br>So you ask them something like this at the beginning of the call.<br><br>“If we decided to work together and we determined that my product was a good fit for your needs, do you have the ability to make a decision about the solution today?”<br><br>If they say no. Then you ask about the decision-maker and find a way to loop them in.<br><br>If they can’t be looped in or your prospect is just browsing around. <br><br>Now’s when you know.<br><br>Disqualify them and wish them a good day.<br><br>Next comes Phase 4.<br><br>Another objection that may come up is the Urgency Objection.<br><br>I.e Prospect likes what they are hearing but they aren’t ready to take action now.<br><br>The solution?<br><br>Don’t give your sales presentation to prospects who aren’t ready to take action immediately.<br><br>To qualify them for this criteria.<br><br>You ask a question like this:<br><br>“Why are you trying to solve this problem now and what happens if you do nothing about it?”<br><br>You want quantifiable pain, and a reason to take action now.<br><br>Let them verbalize it to you.<br><br>If there isn’t one, the sale won’t close.<br><br>You can disqualify them and wish them a good day.<br><br>I harp on about disqualifying people a lot.<br><br>Disqualify people! Disqualify people! Disqualify people!<br><br>Yes, you need to do this.<br><br>That's why you need to keep your lead pipeline full.<br><br>By reaching out to new potential prospects, running ads, posting on social media etc.<br><br>It’s hard to disqualify people if you’re only talking to one new person per week or month.<br><br>Fix your lead flow otherwise, you’ll be needy with each call you get on.<br><br>You won't have the confidence or nonchalance to turn down bad deals if that's all you're getting.<br><br>Another word for this is NEEDINESS.<br><br>It’s almost impossible to close a sale when you are needy.<br><br>Unless your prospect is also needy. <br><br>And you probably don't want to be working with needy clients.<br><br>Anyhoo...<br><br>Once your prospect is fully qualified, you're free to deliver your Sales Presentation <br><br>This is Phase 5 -- Matching your product or service to their pain.<br><br>First, you recap everything they’ve told you.<br><br>Including their budget...<br><br>Ability to make a decision...<br><br>Need to make a change right now...<br><br>And what their future desired outcome would be like.<br><br>Explain how your service or product would do that.<br><br>Make sure the Logical Outcome is justified by the price.<br><br>For example, if you’re charging $500 for a service,<br><br>The logical outcome should generate or save your prospect $5,000 or more in sales or profit.<br><br>If you’re charging $5,000 the logical outcome should be to the tune of $50,000 or more.<br><br>If you want to charge $10,000… well you know the rest.<br><br>And that my friend is how you confidently close a sale.<br><br>Of course, it goes deeper than this.<br><br>Which you’ll get with training and experience.<br><br>But you can pretty much build out your own sales process<br><br>With everything, I’ve shown you here.<br><br>Things that'll help you succeed faster:<br><br>◾ Your Tone Of Voice<br><br>It should go without saying that you have to sound confident.<br><br>Practice will get you there, but you need to know what to look for.<br><br>A great example would be to imagine a Doctor asking you questions at the hospital<br><br>To determine whether you were going to die from a terminal illness, or whether you just caught a cold.<br><br>Imagine how calmly and confidently he would ask his questions and give you a diagnosis & prescription for drugs.<br><br>One course that helped me get this down was Chris Orzechowski’s Email Copy Academy.<br><br>Then Sean Anthony's 6 Figure Drop Servicing course.<br><br>I think both programs have been retired now.<br><br>Jordan Belfort should also be studied even though I don't like his high-pressure, sales approach.<br><br><a class="tweet-url username" href="https://twitter.com/BowTiedSalesGuy" data-screen-name="BowTiedSalesGuy" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">@BowTiedSalesGuy</a> is also good. He deals mostly in software though.<br><br>But you can adapt his process for your niche.<br><br>Those are the sales trainings that worked for me.<br><br>Also, learn to keep quiet while your prospect talks.<br><br>Especially after you tell them the price.<br><br>Yes, you know those uncomfortable silences.<br><br>You want them. An Irresistible Offer To Sell<br><br>2.) Intimate Knowlege About Your Market's Pains & Desires<br><br>3.) The Confidence To Use The Techniques I Will Show You<br><br>Now, the whole point of a Sales Email<br><br>Is to put your reader in the "right" frame of mind.<br><br>A frame of mind that is primed, and receptive to<br><br>The specific offer you are about to promote.<br><br>As an analogy, think of it like making your reader<br><br>Go through a 6-hour fast (He/She will be hungry)<br><br>Then walking them down a busy street filled with <br><br>Delicious food vendors.<br><br>Their hunger will be amplified but you <br><br>Don't let them stop to eat any of it<br><br>Until you've led them to the destination.<br><br>Which just happens to be a restaurant you own<br><br>That sells the food your reader is craving.<br><br>Only then do you casually ask them if they'd <br><br>Like to stop for a bite. <br><br>Of course they will!<br><br>They'll be practically salivating and more <br><br>than eager to buy the food you've primed them to want.<br><br>You can also think about it like <br><br>Teasing your girlfriend or wife in bed<br><br>Enough to get her juices flowing so that <br><br>She is more open to the idea of letting you <br><br>Impale her with your rod of steel.<br><br>This is the ONLY goal of a sales email.<br><br>Tattoo it on your forehead if you have to.<br><br>The goal of a sales email is to create the right <br><br>Mind-state that facilitates a buying decision.<br><br>Which brings us to this legendary email formula.<br><br>It is called: P.W.A.T<br><br>This stands for:<br><br>◾ Problem<br><br>◾ Why it's a problem (Unique Mechanism)<br><br>◾ Agitation (Pain)<br><br>◾ Tease The Solution (Curiosity)<br><br>{Quick Story For Context}<br><br>My entry into the world of advanced email marketing <br><br>Started after I got on Ben Settle's list.<br><br>I studied several of his paid newsletters going back as far as the original issues from 2011.<br><br>Why is this important?<br><br>But one golden gem that he -- Ben Settle <br><br>-- arguably the greatest email copywriter of our time <br><br>Never fails to harp on about...<br><br>Is to NEVER TEACH IN A SALES EMAIL.<br><br>Instead, the ONE thing you should be doing though is:<br><br>"Describing the problem your reader is facing<br><br>In vivid detail to them."<br><br>After writing thousands of emails myself<br><br>I've found this to be 150% accurate.<br><br>This is the P & W of the P.W.A.T formula.<br><br>You can go balls out and tell the problem like it is.<br><br>Best for mass-market lists, because you'll lose<br><br>Their attention if you do it in any other way.<br><br><br><br>If you're writing to a more conservative niche<br><br>a.k.a an (easy to piss off audience) you can<br><br>Cloak the problem in an empathetic story.<br><br>Don't worry I'll show you examples of both of these.<br><br>So you've talked about the problem<br> <br>Either directly or indirectly.<br><br><br>Great, but only amateurs stop there.<br><br><br>We're going to go one layer deeper…<br><br><br><br><br>By talking about the unique reason why<br><br>They are having their problem in the <br><br>first place and why they haven't been <br><br>Able to fix it.<br><br>i.e The clicks...<br><br>The most common emotions<br><br>That drive the buying process...<br><br>Ranked from least profitable to<br><br>Most profitable are:<br><br>Curiosity (Intrigue, Interest etc)<br><br>Pleasure (Happiness, Joy, Fulfilment, etc)<br><br>Pain (Fear, Suffering, etc)<br><br>But to make sure your reader is sufficiently<br><br>Motivated to spend the money, time and<br><br>Effort to make a change, and purchase your offer...<br><br>We're gonna go with pain to be safe.<br><br>The Deeper, Hidden Pain behind the problem. <br><br>For example:<br><br>Not having a second source of income.<br><br>Means anxiety and instability in your life.<br><br>The thought that you might never achieve<br><br>And do all the things you wanted to do.<br><br>You might never have freedom or independence<br><br>And as soon as the market shifts <br><br>You could lose everything.<br><br>Or in the Beauty space.<br><br>Having wrinkles as a woman means your once<br><br>Youthful and beautiful face starts to lose its “Magic”<br><br>Men start to overlook you.<br><br>No more favors, compliments, sugar daddies,<br><br>& flights to Abu Dhabi or Miami.<br><br>Most women don't want that to happen.<br><br>Finally, you give hope.<br><br>You tease a solution.<br><br>And for god's sake don't tell them everything.<br><br>You tell them “Where they can get a solution”<br><br>Everything they want to solve their problems<br><br>Can be found by clicking the button and going<br><br>To your sales message.<br><br>If you can be very descriptive about the problem<br>But very "Vague" about the solution<br><br>Enough to hint at the benefits but vague enough...<br><br>To build curiosity and generate a click<br><br>You'll be one step closer to making that sale.<br><br>Here's an example of a Mass-market P.W.A.T email<br><br>in the health space.<br><br>You can model it for affiliate swipes and email creatives.<br><br><img alt="Image" regular basis is "How" you keep their<br><br>Attention and interest long-term.<br><br>In my experience the best ways to do this<br><br>For maximum engagement and sales<br><br>Are with Parables and Personality Based Stories<br><br>Parables and Personality based stories are <br><br>a Subtle way of hitting your prospect's problems<br><br>Explaining why it's a problem <br><br>Agitating and teasing a solution...<br><br>Without making them feel too bad<br><br>Or like they are being attacked <br><br>And less likely to report your email as spam.<br><br>Although if you're selling to mass market lists<br><br>Don't bother doing any of this<br><br>It's not worth it.<br><br>Here's a teaser example of a parable P.W.A.T I wrote for a client that did $1,995 in sales in under 24 hrs.<br><br>It was than likely you'll just be an entertainer.<br><br>Something for readers to laugh at when they're <br><br>bored without any benefit to you.<br><br>You and your products won't be <br><br>High up on their priorities list<br><br>And trust me when I say this <br><br>Isn't a place you want to be.<br><br>Alright next steps.<br><br>How do you write these kinds of emails yourself?<br><br>Simple!<br><br>Be aware of all of these rules<br><br>Figure out your Personality Stories<br><br>And then write your own emails following<br><br>Proven formulas that work.<br><br>The best way for me to teach this <br><br>Is just demonstrate it by having <br><br>You read my emails<br><br>Where I mix value and selling together.<br><br>So you can see lots of different examples<br><br>Marketing is rarely about genius.<br><br>More often than not, it's about inspiration<br><br>Inspiration from the most relevant high quality <br><br>sources available to you.<br><br>I       <content:encoded><![CDATA[How To Write FEAR Copy That Sells<br><br>[Thread] 🧵<br><br>Back in 2017,  I wrote a lot of long-form copy in the Nigerian Health niche.<br><br>The kind that made my clients and mentors at the time Millions (in naira).<br><br>It was potent copy.<br><br>Very effective, so effective that a lot <br><br>Of the techniques I used are still being <br><br>Used today by some of the biggest direct response publishers in the world.<br><br>So what made these promotions so successful?<br><br>Or rather what is ONE thing I would take out from the promotion that would instantly cripple it<br><br>Like Messi breaking his leg in the middle of an important football game?<br><br>That thing is FEAR<br><br>Putting the fear of god into your readers so they finally get off of their ass and buy<br><br>The premise of fear-based copy is simple<br><br>You see, as humans we have many desires<br><br>Desires that often conflict<br><br>And fight for dominance in our minds<br><br>During a conflict like this<br><br>The desire that SEEMS to be the most crucial to your survival will win<br><br>E.g <br><br>Your desire to hold your breath to break a world record<br><br>VS<br><br>Your desire to breathe and stay alive<br><br>Obviously the first desire will win.<br><br>You can only CONSCIOUSLY hold your breath for so long<br><br>As soon as your body has had enough you will your open your mouth<br><br>And fucking inhale<br><br>You won't care whether the air is toxic or not<br><br>You might even inhale Fart-Filled air all in a desperate attempt to breathe<br><br>Wanna know why?<br><br>Because breathing is key to your survival.<br><br>You are not thinking <br><br>You are acting in your body's best interest<br><br>Anything less important falls to the background<br><br>And this human behavioral pattern is what helps us write better copy.<br><br>Fear makes people EMOTIONAL<br><br>When people are emotional they buy the way you'd like them to buy<br><br>By taking action NOW rather than later <br><br>And buying from YOU rather than going in search of a better deal in the hands of your competitors.<br><br>Fear helps you tame... <br><br>The Demon Of Procrastination<br><br>Because your reader always has many choices to solve his many problems<br><br>He will solve the most pressing problem first<br><br>The problem that scares him the most<br><br>And if it's not life or death<br><br>The baton gets passed down to the deepest pain or a nagging insecurity your reader has.<br><br>This is what you want to touch with your fear-based copy.<br><br>Now let me show you how to wield fear ethically.<br><br>Let's imagine a man has $1,500 and<br><br>3 possible ways to spend the money<br><br>He can:<br><br>1.) Invest in a new side hustle biz<br><br>Which one do you think he is going to do?<br><br>The answer:<br><br>He'll do whichever one scares him the most<br><br>He'll attend to whichever one of these desires<br><br>Has the biggest emotional & physical consequences for not doing them right now!<br><br>In other words:<br><br>What's the worst case scenario if I don't get rid of this problem, pain or insecurity NOW<br><br>For example: <br><br>If my boy doesn't pay his rent <br><br>His landlord might kick him out<br><br>Seize all his belongings<br><br>And force him to go back to living with his evil older brother in the middle of nowhere<br><br>Where he will live a sad, depressed life<br><br>Lose contact with all his friends <br><br>Miss out on once-in-a-lifetime business opportunities<br><br>And fall so far back in life that he can't recover<br><br>This is an extreme situation<br><br>Extreme yes -- but it could still happen<br><br>And its this possibility of a Doomsday, end of the world situation that triggers FEAR<br><br>What about the girlfriend?<br><br>It's same thing.<br><br>Worst case scenario<br><br>He doesn't buy it for her and she leaves him<br><br>She runs into the arms of another man<br><br>His peers laugh at him for being a broke, incompetent boyfriend<br><br>And not being able to financially satisfy his girl<br><br>He has a mental breakdown<br><br>Can't focus on work or business<br><br>Dates someone else out of desperation<br><br>Has kids and gets locked into a bad marriage<br><br>Eventually divorce -- and then loosing everything he has<br><br>All because he refused to spend money on  the girlfriend who he actually loved.<br><br>Another exaggerated, worst case scenario story.<br><br>But it could happen.<br><br>Most likely has happened before.<br><br>Or for the business opportunity <br><br>Well if someone doesn't invest in a business opportunity now<br><br>The worst thing that can happen is that <br><br>The reader loses whatever job he is currently working at<br><br>He loses his sole source of income<br><br>Loses his status<br><br>Loses the lifestyle he was used to<br><br>Starts to feel worthless and without purpose<br><br>The Naysayers will start to laugh<br><br>He will be unable to provide for his wife and kids losing their respect<br><br>And every time he sees one of his old friends...<br><br>Who took advantage of that SPECIFIC opportunity he missed...<br><br>He is going to feel the deep pain of regret<br><br>A pain that will never leave him until his dying days.<br><br>Woah! Use P.I.G Stories<br><br>P.I.G stand for Punched In The Gut<br><br>What is does it to trigger an "Immediate Emotion Reaction In Your Audience"<br><br>The goal of which is to get people to stick around, to read more of your content<br><br>And buy your stuff<br><br><img alt="Image" src="https://api.typefully.com/media-p/ea29fb42-d069-4d12-9b03-b74996d8c802/"><br><br>For example, telling a man something like:<br><br>"I saw your wife at a hotel with another man."<br><br>Yikes! - I don't care who you are <br><br>That statement will make you stop, and feel something visceral in your gut<br><br>Even before your logical brain starts to compute how it could have happened<br><br>Really any emotion is good because<br><br>You can't bore someone into buying your stuff<br><br>You can't throw value at them and hope they somehow reach into their pockets and give you money<br><br>It doesn't work!<br><br>Most people receiving your emails <br><br>Or reading your sales letters are sitting down at home or in their offices extremely bored.<br><br>And if your marketing is interesting<br><br>It provides relief from that mundane life<br><br>Especially if it's done with a story.<br><br>They will jump on that story, latch on to it <br><br>And probably read it to the end<br><br>Even if it means they have to pony up some dough if they want to get more.<br><br>P.I.G stories do this brilliantly<br><br>And last but not least...<br><br>3.) It could be anything.<br><br>Only way to find out is to read till the end <br><br>And by that time you’re already spellbound by the words in the email <br><br>You’re being sold already.<br><br>The Gary Halbert Weird Opener gets your attention with something different <br><br>And drags you down into the sales message<br><br>Like I'm doing to you right now 😄<br><br>Here’s another example of a Weird Opener<br><br>This time just the lead -- no subject line.<br><br>100 shares of McDonald’s stock were worth $2,250 when they were first offered in 1965.<br><br>30 years later in 1995, they were worth more than 1.4 million dollars.<br><br>Yowzer! That sounds great.
